A passionate educator, Riley teaches all forms of percussion and drum set as well as music theory. In addition to his private percussion studio maintained in NYC, Palmer is the percussion faculty member at Lucy Moses School and the Special Music School High School at the Kaufman Music Center. He has previously taught at Mannes Prep and Bronx Conservatory.
Riley’s students have gone on to attend music schools in both classical percussion and jazz drum set at the Curtis Institute of Music, Berklee College of Music, Montclair State University, The New School, and the Manhattan School of Music .
